【报告人简介】
Alex Anas教授1975-1991年间在美国西北大学任教并获得终身教职教授，自1991年至今任纽约州立大学（布法罗分校）经济学教授，现为纽约州立大学（布法罗分校）经济系主任。
Anas教授的研究领域为理论、实证及应用城市经济学。在Journal of Economic Literature，Journal of Regional Science，Journal of Urban Economics，The Review of Economics and Statistics等区域科学领域顶尖期刊发表过一百余篇论文，在国际学术界具有广泛的影响力。2016年，Anas教授获得Walter Isard奖，该奖项奖励从事区域科学研究（包括经济学、地理学、交通规划等等多个学科）的最杰出的学者。
【报告摘要】
In the large cities of the world traffic congestion is increasing rapidly as it remains unpriced or underpriced. We discuss the theory of how urban traffic congestion should be priced, how traffic congestion and congestion pricing influence rents, wages, and the location of jobs and population within cities. Pricing and infrastructure expansion have complementary roles in alleviating congestion. We will discuss results for Los Angeles, Paris and Casablanca from economic modeling by the presenter and his co-authors.
